Pilates classes in Penarth run by a senior Physiotherapist, APPI Pilates instructor & Olympian, Ciara Oliva

LOVELY TESTIMONIALS FROM LOVELY PEOPLE
Pilates with Ciara always felt welcoming and inclusive for all abilities. I was grateful for her care taken to make sure I was doing the exercises correctly and most importantly the sessions were always a lot of fun. Thank you!

Double Olympic champion
I’ve suffered with terrible lower pain and sciatica since the birth of my first son 11 years ago. After visiting a chiropractor, I was advised to start pilates.
I saw a post on Facebook for local classes with Ciara, and after my first session I realised that although this was a group session, Ciara was amazing with helping everyone with their individual needs and capabilities.
I can’t rate Ciara enough! And if it wasn’t for now living way too far away I would still be attending classes!

Hi! I’m Ciara!
I’m Ciara Oliva, Mother to three beautiful children and wife to Lewis 😊
I’ve been teaching pilates for 8 years and qualified through the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute). I’ve completed additional courses in ante and post-natal pilates, cycling & running specific pilates courses as well as neurological rehabilitation pilates. Previously, I’ve been a presenter with the APPI which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Alongside my pilates teaching, I’ve been fortunate to achieve my Physiotherapy dream as a lead Physiotherapist for the British Wheelchair fencing team at the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
Personally, I was a Team GB Olympic athlete, World championship medallist on the track and road, Double European Champion and multiple world cup winner. My background as an athlete, Physiotherapist and Mother, ensures that my pilates classes provide a holistic approach to all my clients.
I’m very passionate about teaching pilates and my classes aim to meet the needs of everyone in that class. Whether you’re looking for an hour to yourself or have specific post-natal, sporting or injury related goals, I will do my best to help you achieve them.
The benefits of pilates include a whole-body workout, improvement in flexibility, increased muscular strength, relaxation and mindfulness practise (at the end of each class).
